Iran Pakistan Relations: Geopolitics politics is changing day by day. We are hearing about a lot of attacks and retaliation between different countries around the world. The Middle East and the Central Asia region is one of those. It is one of the most volatile areas of the world as one cannot predict what would happen next here. And same applies to the Iran Pakistan conflict which is going on in the present time.
Iran Pakistan Relations
According to news, Iran conducted military strikes against Pakistan and targeted Jaish-ul- adl militant group in the Balochistan region of Pakistan blaming them of suicide bombing in Iran. And then Pakistan retaliated and undertook precision military strikes against the terrorist hideouts in the disputed region of Sistan-Baluchistan province of Iran.
These attacks have caused a lot of civil casualties and all these attacks happened after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched missiles in Iraq’s Kurdistan region as it claimed that that region was working as Israeli spy headquarters.
Iran has been in the news for other reasons like it has been helping the Houthi rebels for their attacks in The Red sea and funding them.
Pakistan has retaliated and codenamed it as Operation ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar‘ which has words of different language. Marg Bar which are Farsi words mean ‘Death to’ and Sarmachar which is a Baloch word and means ‘Fighters‘.
After knowing about the present scenario, we got to know about a group through this news which is Jaish-ul-adl. So let’s understand what this group is and why tensions are arising due to it.
JAISH-UL-ADL
Jaish-ul-adl is a militant Baluchi separatist Organization which is of Sunni sect and its name means the “Army of Justice“. It mainly operates in the south eastern Iran where the population is of Sunni sect and in the southern region of Pakistan also. Although they operate from outside Pakistan mainly as they work to form a separate Balochistan region. It was formed in 2012. And is fighting for the independence of Sistan-Baluchistan province and for the rights of Baloch people. It is a designated Terrorist group by countries like Iran, New Zealand, Japan and the United States. And this group has been alleged of attacks in Iran.
Now let’s understand the region of conflict in this whole matter.
Sistan-Baluchistan in Iran and Balochistan region of Pakistan
The Baloch people are the ones who have been marginalized for a long time in history and in the present too. The Baloch people are mainly located and settled in the regions of three countries- Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. I
t is the region which gets neglected by its country because of other issues and therefore a lot of tensions and conflicts arise in this region. The Baloch people rebelled against the ill treatment of the government and led to the rise of terrorist groups like Jaish-ul-adl.
These people want their separate nation separate from Iran and Pakistan. It is the largest and the least populated region of Pakistan and is different from the whole population. And their neglect has led to insurgency in the region which impacts the security question of Pakistan. And is definitely a question of concern due to the instability which is prevalent in the country. And this conflict is also escalating and spreading into the regions of Iran armed therefore lead to insurgency in these regions. And the results can be seen by the Iran Pakistan war crisis which is going on in the present scenario.
It has become the Third Level conflict area for Pakistan after the Kashmir issue and the militant attacks which challenge authority of the state as it can be seen that not even one Prime Minister of Pakistan has been able to complete his or her tenure for complete 5 years and Pakistan in itself is an unstable state and those issue of Baloch adds to the tensions.
IRAN’S INTENTIONS
Iran want to create a vacuum in the region of Middle East and want to come as a sole player in the region. It has been attacking the regions of Syria. It is also helping the Houthi rebels for their attacks and is mainly concerned about its position in the region.and therefore all these tensions which are being crated would impact the whole geopolitics scenario. And this would definitely impact the relations between the two countries which had recently met.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian met with Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Davos for the World economic forum(WEF).
Iran is always in the search for the Islamic cause and had worked to achieve it therefore causing such conflicts.
World’s view on this conflict- Iran Pakistan Relations
The ongoing conflict between the two countries is being criticized by most of the countries as it is not the right solution which needs criticized by most of the countries as it is not the right solution which needs to be taken. As after the Ukraine Russia war and Israel Palestine war and the attacks by the Houthi Rebels,it is only going to escalate the situation and would cause civil casalities only.
The China’s foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has urge both the sides to restrain and avoid actions which could cause escalation of the matter intentions as both of these countries are close neighbours of China.
India’s Foreign ministry has release on official statement about its neutrality on the issue. And it also highlighted India’s “uncompromising position of zero tolerance towards terrorism” and also that it understands “actions that countries take in their self-defence. And as we know India and Iran have good relations with each other and recently our Foreign Minister SJ Shankar met Iran’s president Ali Khamenei.
The Russian Foreign ministry has also called for maximum restrain from both the countries solve their disputes through diplomatic discussions and resolutions.
United States of America has condemned the attacks initiated by the Iran government.
Some Super National organisations is have also put forward their views like the European Union expressed its utmost concern over the attacks by the Iranian and Pakistani government. And has said that both of them have violated the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the two regions.
And United Nations organisations Secretary General António Guterres has also called Iran in Pakistan to exercise maximum constraint and restraint to stop the matter from escalating more.
All the body countries are trying to have some dialogue and discussion regarding the conflict and two resolve it as they have good relations with each other and the ministers have met with each other to discuss issues. And both the countries have a similar enemy that is the Jaish-ul-adl therefore they need to have a dialogue with each other so that they could reach out to a productive result and peaceful conclusion.
Because it is necessary for the two countries to reach out at a conclusion because if it doesn’t happen so then it would definitely impact the whole Geo Political situation of the region and therefore impact the Other neighbouring countries to and in which India is one of the major part as India has clearly stated that it won’t be tolerant towards the terrorist attacks. As stability is a very essential requirement for any country or region.

Conclusion – Iran Pakistan Relations
Present time we don’t know what would happen in the future we need to regulate our actions such that it does not impact our future in a negative way. Countries like Iran Pakistan need to understand the sensitivity of the conditions which are prevailing in this present time. 2 years back Russia Ukraine war started and has not come to an end yet and now another crisis has come in front of us which is the Iran Pakistan war crisis. As we know that these conflicts only lead to negative results and does not produce any positive results it only effects the Civil population of the region and they are the ones who suffer the most.
The present Israel Palestine conflict is the example of such cruel reality. Most of the countries want peaceful conclusion in such issues and India has always initiated and wants peaceful dialogue and discussion between conflicting countries. All the we know that India has good relationships with Iran but we need to understand that such actions need to be restrained from both the sides.
To the best solution to end this conflict would be by having a peaceful discussion between the two countries and to resolve it as soon as possible and they need to understand that the problem because of which they are fighting is the one which is threat to them that is the Jaish-ul-adl group which is causing tensions in the region of Southern Iran and the southern Eastern Pakistan.
And the nuclear world in which we are living it would be really destructive if the two countries get deeply involved in the use of arms. So we should definitely understand the sensitiveness of the situation and take actions according to it as war is never the solution and there are no winners in a war and there are always losers in a war.
